چکیده
Abstract In the foreseeable future, geothermal exploitation from hot dry rocks (HDR) using a horizontal well will bear potential. Thus, in-depth studies should be conducted on selection of injection-production scheme (IPS) and working fluid, design reinjection parameters, optimization wellbore structure materials, analysis geological settings. This paper proposed fully coupled model to study above scientific questions. For Model A, fluid was injected into annulus then flowed out thermal insulation pipe (TIP). Its temperature passes through two stages rise decline. But for B, TIP annulus. undergoes five stages, four one stage The results show that A is best IPS owing its high outlet temperature, stable recovery, low injection volume. when supercritical carbon dioxide liquid volume 135.73 m 3 /d, heat recovery ratio (HRR) as 85.40%, which 17.85% higher than B whose medium water, only 25% that. Meanwhile, over ten years continuous production, decreased by 7.5 °C 18.38 in latter. optimal has capacity conductivity any IPS. Sensitivity showed area met HDR standard, effect can ignored. As HRR drops sharply 6.74–9.32% goes completely adiabatic nonzero conductivity. segment length shorter obtains compared with B. addition, correlation between different formations thermophysical properties seriously affected period, summarized detail.

Designing multi-well layout for enhanced geothermal system to better exploit hot dry rock geothermal energy
Heat extraction mode, e.g. well layout or arrangement of wells, of enhanced or engineered geothermal system (EGS) is crucial to its performance and directly affects its commercial viability. Assuming the subsurface target hot dry rock (HDR) has been well-fractured and the created heat reservoir can be treated as a homogeneous porous medium, we numerically simulate the long-term heat extraction ...

The current Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) with a fractured reservoir undergoes several practical issues, such as scaling in the wellbore, the mass flow loss into the reservoir, and the challenge in designing the placement of production wells. In this paper, novel underground well pattern systems were proposed for geothermal energy exploitation. A numerical model of two kinds well pattern sy...
متن کاملFracture Network Modeling of a Hot Dry Rock Geothermal Reservoir
Fluid flow and tracer transport in a fractured Bot Dry Rock (HDR) geothermal reservoir are modeled using fracture network modeling techniques. The steady state pressure and flow fields are solved for a two-dimensional, interconnected network of fractures with no-flow outer boundaries and constant-pressure source and sink points to simulate wellbore-fracture intersections. The tracer response is...

High frequency (8-15 KHz) seismic waves that travel between two boreholes are used to probe the detailed structure of rock in the Los Alamos Scientific Labora:ory Fenton Hill geothermal energy reservoir. Because of the unique ability to control fluid pressure in the reservoir, we can make in situ seismic measurements at different fluid pressures and apply the results of pertinent laboratory mea...
متن کاملEfficient optical extraction of hot-carrier energy.
Light-induced generation of free charge carriers in semiconductors constitutes the physical basis of photodetection and photovoltaics. To maximize its efficiency, the energy of the photons must be entirely used for this purpose. This is highly challenging owing to the ultrafast thermalization of 'hot' carriers, which are created by absorption of high-energy photons. Thermalization leads to heat...
